In a candidate market as competitive as this you need to be doing more to give your new starters an exceptional #newstarter
Here is what we recommend…
Send a welcome pack to your new hire? Some company collateral or small personalised welcome gifts can go a long way to creating comfort.
Diarise these and make them fun, find out more about what their hobbies and personal interests are and get to know them on a personal level.
Set this up and diarise meetings with other key staff in the business and introduce them to decision makers in the business, this is more important in a sales role as sales professionals like to feel important.
Make a formal announcement across the company newsletter or on socials like linked in, this is a great way to get other employees to also engage with them online.
Encourage other team members to schedule a coffee or a team lunch, this is a fabulous way to get your new starter socialising with the team. A social environment where employees know they have likeminded others they can learn and grow with can be great comfort and also breed healthy competition on the sales floor.
Give them access to your training schedule or learning platform and schedule allocated training time in their diaries for a minimum of 8 weeks .This is a great way to keep them engaged and have training to look forward to.
If you are already doing this I am sure you have a very engaged and motivated sales floor. Otherwise, it’s time to reflect and strategize your onboarding process. Remember that investing on your team members is good for your business.
