Solutions Architect

A role within the Federal government is now on offer and are seeking a Digital Solutions Architect to support the ongoing delivery of the STEPS and TFTM programs. These initiatives focus on streamlining import/export processes, modernizing digital services, and ensuring regulatory compliance using agile and user-centered design approaches.

Work Location

  • Canberra (Hybrid)
  • Contract duration : 12 months with 12 X 2 extensions

Solutions Architect Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic technical roadmaps for platforms, systems, and services.
  • Design and deliver cloud-based solutions, ensuring integration with existing systems.
  • Establish compliance frameworks in line with government security standards.
  • Support the transition of services, including SLAs for uptime, response times, and performance.
  • Conduct user research, software design, and testing through Alpha and Beta phases.
  • Identify and mitigate technical and security risks while ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Provide architectural oversight, addressing business challenges and modernizing legacy technology.

Technical Skills & Experience

  • Baseline Security Clearance required for both roles.
  • Previous experience in federal government highly preferred.
  • Strong expertise in Microsoft and cloud infrastructure services, including Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
  • Proficiency in enterprise data governance, API integration, and cybersecurity frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience with:
  • Cloud technologies: Azure, AWS, or GCP
  • Programming languages: Python, Java, .NET, or JavaScript
  • API development & integration: RESTful APIs, GraphQL, OAuth, and SOAP
  • Database management: SQL, NoSQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB
  • DevOps & CI/CD tools: Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Terraform, or Kubernetes
  • Security & Compliance: Australian Cyber Security Centre guidelines, identity & access management (IAM), encryption, and data privacy regulations
  • Experience in agile methodologies and user-centered design.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to drive efficiency, cost savings, and digital modernization.
