Are you a skilled Network & Security Technician?

We are looking for a skilled Network & Network Security Technicians to support critical defence projects. Multiple opportunities available.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Network Design & Deployment: Support the design, build, and deployment of complex network systems, ensuring alignment with security principles and governance frameworks.
  • Firewall & NAC Management: Lead the design, automation, and integration of firewalls and Network Access Control (NAC) with network designs using BGP and OSPF.
  • Security Tools Integration: Integrate network security tools with monitoring systems, including SIEM, and proactively maintain and upgrade Cyber tools.
  • Operational Support: Provide expert network advice and operational support to customers, stakeholders, and project teams. Contribute to the creation of Knowledge Articles on key network processes, devices, and systems.
  • Documentation & Risk Management: Author and review Solution Designs, Standard Operating Procedures, and other required documentation. Identify technical risks and collaborate on mitigation strategies.
  • Collaboration & Innovation: Work closely with vendors and stakeholders to optimize designs, support Validation and Verification (V&V) activities, and identify innovative service improvements.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Network Technician or Senior Network Security Technician in Defence.
  • Strong knowledge of networking technologies including Routing, Switching, Next-Gen Firewalls, VoIP, Enterprise Wireless LAN, Network Segmentation, and Flow Control.
  • Expertise in cyber-security controlszero-trust architecture, and security products (e.g., Firewalls, NAC, SIEM).
  • Proficiency with Fortinet, Ansible, Cisco productsNutanix, and VMware.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard frameworks (e.g., TOGAF).
  • Excellent communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
  • Knowledge of Australian Defence Force environments and relevant security frameworks (ISM, NIST).
  • Familiarity with SEA2273 Minerva systems.
  • Experience applying frameworks to architecture, solution design, and test/evaluation procedures.
